Telestream Unveils Wirecast Pro and Wirecast 4

At the NAB Show (National Association of Broadcasters) in Las Vegas, Telestream has unveiled an upgrade to their live webcasting software, Wirecast 4.0 as well as a new product, Wirecast Pro.

Wirecast 4.0 adds high-quality, H.264 encoding and a brand new user interface to make it easier to use.

Wirecast Pro builds upon the features already available in Wirecast and adds more graphic content, including virtual 3D foregrounds, backgrounds and scoreboard. It adds better audio controls, support for more input devices (including wireless IP cameras) and new format support for On2 VP6. All broadcasts can be streamed live to websites using Flash, QuickTime or even Windows Media.

Both Wirecast 4.0 and Wirecast Pro are scheduled to be released in June 2010 where Wirecast 4.o will be priced at $449 and Wirecast Pro at $995. If you however are a current user of Wirecast, the new version (4.0) will be available as a free upgrade.

Handbrake 0.9.4 adds 64-bit support

Handbrake was updated a couple of days ago to version 0.9.4 with a whopping change log with over 1000 new changes. The most important new feature will have to be 64-bit support, cutting about 10% off transcoding time. The new version will support 64-bit even under Leopard, so if you have a capable machine, you will benefit from the increased speed as well.

Handbrake: Convert DVDs and Media to iTunes
