Check out BestAppSite for all iPhone and iPad News
This week, Mac news have been very slow and because of it being easter last weekend, the podcast had a halt this week. Since then, it has pretty much been non-stop iPad and iPhone news.
I have previously committed not to cover the mobile Apple devices here, but stick to Mac OS X only, which means that a lot of these news just pass by this site.
My buddy Terry White launched (with me doing the design and behind-the-scenes coding work) last year a site called BestAppSite where you can find news and reviews on iPad and iPhone applications and so, I want to just direct you over there for all of the Apple mobile news! I am contributing with a lot of the news and some reviews as well over there.
Billings Touch in the App Store
Even though MacAppZone does not cover iPhone apps (and will not do so either, check out BestAppSite for that), I thought a follow-up to the news about Billings 3.5 last week would be in order. Today, Marketcricle announced that their Billings Touch application (app store link) now is available from the App Store, great news for Billings users.
PhoneView 2.2.3 capable of video exporting
Ecamm Network has released PhoneView 2.2.3 with bug fixes, tweaks and more notably, support for video exporting from the iPhone 3GS. Already in PhoneView is access to contacts, text messages, notes and call history (as well as iTunes media files) with additional support for storing files on the device (as a USB-stick). The upgrade is free for current users, otherwise a license to PhoneView costs $19.95.
iPhone 3.0: Some Favorite New Features
I’ve quite made it a point not to cover much in regards to the iPhone here on the site as it is supposed to be about Mac applications, however I think the iPhone 3.0 firmware is too good to pass on! I’ve been using the 3.0 firmware since the first beta version back in March and now that I have been using the golden master seed for about a week and I really, truly like it!
