Apple Updates Remote Desktop to 3.3.2

Apple has rolled out an update to Apple Remote Desktop, now version 3.3.2 to improve its overall stability and performance. It also includes fixes for some specific user issues.

The update, rolling in at 4.21 MB for the client and 51.41 MB for the admin, will require either 10.4.11, 10.5.7 or 10.6 or later, available both from the links here (going to Apple’s support apge) and in Software Update

Apple updates Digital Camera Raw Compatibility

Via Software Update, Apple has released a new Digital Camera Raw Compatibility for Aperture 2, iPhoto ‘08 and iPhone ‘09 weighing in at 7.3 MB. The new update adds support for the Canon EOS Mark IV, Canon EOS 7D, Canon PowerShot G11, Nikon D3s, Nikon D300s and the Nikon D3000.

New AirPort and Firmware updates

From Apple comes some new updates. If you have experienced issues with your AirPort network on a MacBook or a MacBook Pro, you should definitely download the update (recommended for all users on 10.6.2), AirPort Client Update 2009-002 (12.95 MB) and should be a remedy for some of the users.

Both the MacBook and the MacBook Pro have each gotten EFI firmware updates as well, both addressing noise made by the optical disk while the computer wakes or sleeps. After the update, you will be promoted to install SuperDrive Firmware Update 3.0 as well.

Apple quietly gives Mac Pro a speed bump

Apple now quietly bumped the speed of the Mac Pro, giving it an optional 3.33 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" Processor. It features hyper-threading technology, a 8MB fully shared L3 cache, turbo boosts for shorter times with speeds to up 3.6 GHz and also an integrated memory controller. Also updated in the MacPro is the option to customize and order it with 2TB hard drives.

Apple Updates Java for both Leopard and Snow Leopard

 Apple have released updates to the Java included with the OS to both Leopard and Snow Leopard systems. Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 1 is available for Snow Leopard, while Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 6 is available for Leopard.

The updates improve reliability, security and compatibility and will require a restart when being installed. They can be downloaded from Software Update or from Apple Support Downloads website.
