Apple drops the price of the Mac Developer Program

Becoming an official Mac developer has been associated with some relatively high yearly costs when getting the Apple Developer Connection Select ($499) or Premiere ($3499) memberships.

Apple has now decided to drop the cost down to only $99/year and this is, according to Apple because the iPhone Developer Program (equally priced at $99/year to join) has been such a success that they hope many of these will see the move into the Mac world.

If you are already a ACD member, you will retain all of your features until your membership expires at which time you can sign up for the new developer program, or cease development.
