Developer Color Picker released
On of the code ninja over at Panic Software has released a freeware color picker for developers (that adds to the default OS X color picker panel), called Developer Color Picker. It will allow you to chose a color from anywhere like the regular color pickers in OS X but with a major addition. It allows you to copy this using a declaration (NSColor, UIColor, CGColorRef, CSS and HTML are supported). This saves a lot of time when copying the code values!
Parallels Desktop: Powerful Virtualization Made Simple
Parallels Desktop is one of the two most known virtualization applications on the Mac, that you can use to virtually run another operating system at the same time as OS X.
It’s simple to set-up your own virtual machine using Parallels. You just follow a few short steps, outlining the specifications you want on your machine (recommended values get entered automatically) and which OS you will be running on it.
Meebo: A Web Based Chat Client
If you’re looking to get a new IM-client, you probably know that you have more than a handful to choose from. When I was looking for one, Meebo became the obvious choice after many comparisons and tryouts of other clients. Hopefully this introduction will help you experience those nice things I’ve experienced during my year using Meebo.
Using the Built-in Screenshot Tools
In Mac OS X it is very simple to take a screenshot or a screen capture, either at the entire screen or at just a window or a portion, by using the built-in screenshot shortcuts.
Hazel adds App Sweep multi-user support
Noodlesoft, maker of the popular cleaner application Hazel, announced the release of Hazel 2.3. The update adds multi-user support for the feature called App Sweep (that helps delete applications properly). The multi-user support gives other users on the same machine the option to delete their support files for the deleted app as well, when another user on the Mac deletes an application. New in the update is also more formatting options for file attributes, many user interface tweaks, bug fixes as well as support for archiving in the RAR format.
The update to Hazel 2.3 is a free update for current owners and a new license costs $22. To run Hazel, you need to have Mac OS X 10.4 or later as well as a modern web browser, such as Safari or Firefox.
